A face boxed in by concrete buildings, arms that stretch a shadow, a body that sinks into the gravel… these are just some of the unreal scenes created and transformed by artist Eva Davidova. She seems to have the knack for finding new connections between the hard and the fragile, the immobile and the mobile. She manipulates reality as if she wielded the power of Star Trek-like weapons and devotes herself to exploring parallel worlds, sometimes paradoxical or hypnotic, but always sensual and poetic.
Even though sometimes we miss the precious definition of analogical photography, digital photography does provide tiny gems that escape from the feast of technique and play on sensitive, unexpected chords.
You can see this tiny digital treat at Barcelona’s N2 gallery until the 12th of November.

Eva Davidova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and has been exhibiting her photographs, installations and paintings in Madrid, Barcelona, London and New York, among other cities.

Now that the world is finally concerned about he environment and almost everyone wants to do their little part in taking care of the planet, we came upon a website that shows us how to reuse dozens of plastic bags that we amass at home (the one from the supermarket, the one from the shoe shop, the one from the newsstand, etc.). The designs shown are super fun and really cool, plus, they’re for a good cause!
Would you dare make one yourself?

We tend to get two kinds of reactions when the 31st of October, Halloween night, draws closer. The first: Halloween is a Celtic tradition that the Americans reinvented less than 100 years ago and it has nothing to do with us. The second: Halloween! A great excuse for
going out!
Night of terror? You bet: for parents of teenagers. For the remaining humans, Halloween is a chance to bring to light (moonlight, that is) your own night-owlish, naughty side. You can become an owl for one night (crazy). And if you don’t feel like going out, you know… ‘a Celtic tradition…’.

We’re convinced that the dream of making the world a better place can come true.
Working in collaboration with the NGO Madre Coraje, our project – Pyjamas for a dream – has enabled thousands of people living in Peru’s poorest areas to receive thousands of garments donated by women’secret.
We’re appealing to you for help: for every pair of pyjamas sold in our stores we’ll be sending an item of sleepwear to Peru’s neediest via the Madre Coraje NGO. We’ve realised that there’s a seemingly insurmountable amount of work to be done, but small or big actions such as this really can make a difference and contribute to making the world a better place.
Your reaction has been nothing short of spectacular, so we’d like to thank you once again for joining in with this charity project and w’s modest contribution to helping others.

It could be a stone with cedar and neroli. A rolling stone personality feature with a secret inside. A memory, a weapon, a weakness…
Which will it be? For the time being it is w’eau the cologne that women’secret just released.
Perhaps when somebody finds it on your shelf, they might wonder.
Now what’s she trying to do with this cologne? And in fact, what are we trying to do with this cologne? Plus, what’s neroli?
What we want is to keep up the mystery, we want them to keep wondering. And neroli is an essential oil that is extracted from orange blossoms through a distillation process. You see, everything has a logical, rational explanation, right?

women’secret has embarked on a new mission to fight against Breast Cancer, this time in Portugal, in collaboration with the Associação Laço.
We’ve come up with a fabulously laid-back collection in cotton featuring purple motifs that is perfect for women of all ages. Everyone purchasing items from this collection will be contributing to the fight against cancer, as a percentage of the sale price is destined to this cause.

We want to travel to New York with the excuse of Fashion Week, or because we’ve won a trip to New York from club wow, or if we don’t have any excuse, simply to sample the city’s new flavours.
We’ll scan Time Out, the visitors’ guide in NY Magazine, and we’ll even read that book that people seem to like, NY CALLING, that surveys the changes in the city since Taxi Driver and Annie Hall. We’ll go shopping and on a quest for great deals. We’ll improvise a film, we’ll have lunch in Little Italy, we’ll have dinner at a deli, we’ll have lunch in Chinatown, and we might even have dinner at NOBU, and for one day we’ll the follow the line of Momo, the artist of TAG MANHATTAN (momoshowpalace.com), or we’ll look for his tropical –coloured graffiti. We’ll go see a musical (there are now 31 shows on Broadway to choose from!), we’ll take the subway, we’ll go to the Guggenheim and to see the autumn colours in Central Park. We’ll destroy our trainers from walking and come back with others as a souvenir.

This is an initiative between Bimba Bosé, women’secret and the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC). The Bimba collection, designed jointly by women’secret and the model, was launched this week to dovetail with the 19th of October, World Breast Cancer Day.
We really liked Bimba’s creations. The black lingerie pieces are extremely sensual, showing off a sensual body with lightness. The Prince of Wales checked pyjamas and accessories for showing plenty of personality are also originals: beret, scarves and moccasins. An aesthetic entirely in black and white, somewhere between sexy and androgynous, very Bimba. Proceeds will be earmarked to the struggle against breast cancer.

Today we’re posing an impossible questions. We’re sorry, but every now and then you wake up inspired. Are you happy? Or are you unhappy? Ok, ok, we’ll simplify it. Which end do you lean closer to? Wow. In reality, is there anyone out there who knows what that thing called happiness is? Is it true that someone is happy when they don’t realise what they’re experiencing, when lots of things happen to them but they don’t dwell on it? The truth is that we could write a truly interminable post trying to answer such a trite question, but we thought it would be a lot more fun (and simple) to show you the idea by artist Alex Ostrowski on how to achieve happiness:
“In March 2008 I took the decision to visit happiness, so I embarked on a journey to find it. I summarise my journey in this book. There’s only one copy of it.”

Throughout the autumn 2005 season, women’secret worked in collaboration with the NGO Tierra de Hombres on its Journey for Life programme, which provides medical aid for children in Africa. The campaign raised a staggering €300,000 that will go towards the financing of this project!
We asked a bunch of celebrities to design exclusive garments, with the proceeds from the sales going to this project. Actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalia Verbeke, singers Leonor Watling and Bebe, sportswoman Natalia Via Dufresne and models Bimba Bosé and Nieves Álvarez all agreed to work with us to make this project possible.
The clothes – which were absolutely gorgeous and reflected the spirit of solidarity that characterises each of the participating celebrities – sold out in record time, leaving many of you unable to collaborate with the project through your purchases.
