DESIGNING FOR LIFE, OR HOW EVERYONE CAN DO THEIR BIT TO HELP OTHERS

Throughout the autumn 2005 season, women’secret worked in collaboration with the NGO Tierra de Hombres on its Journey for Life programme, which provides medical aid for children in Africa. The campaign raised a staggering €300,000 that will go towards the financing of this project!

We asked a bunch of celebrities to design exclusive garments, with the proceeds from the sales going to this project. Actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalia Verbeke, singers Leonor Watling and Bebe, sportswoman Natalia Via Dufresne and models Bimba Bosé and Nieves Álvarez all agreed to work with us to make this project possible.

The clothes – which were absolutely gorgeous and reflected the spirit of solidarity that characterises each of the participating celebrities – sold out in record time, leaving many of you unable to collaborate with the project through your purchases.

This idea has made us realise just how important it is to w’s girls to be able to help others. Indeed, Designing for life acted as a real boost, encouraging us to collaborate in all those good causes you are interested in. That’s why, whenever we have the opportunity, we try to help with our charity campaigns.

Because each and every one of us can make a difference. And if w’s manages to channel all that effort and energy into a single cause, then the impact will be far greater.
