PRESS PRESENTATION IN MADRID

It’s true, the arrival of autumn changes everything: the lights, the weather… and we’ve joined in, changing our showroom to include the new winter styles.

Hours and hours of hard work, nerves, fittings…it’s all part of designing new collections. A long process that ends when the garments arrive in the stores and the collections are presented to the press in each country. Two moments that make us feel as though we’re taking our end of year exams! We’re being tested to see if we’ve done a good job and are waiting anxiously to see if we’ve passed.

A few days ago we presented our winter collection to the Spanish press. It was a really great event, packed with ultra-cool people who love having fun and chatting about the fashion garments they’re planning and ordering the garments they’ll feature in their magazines.

WOMEN’SECRET HAS A SOLUTION FOR YOUR PERIOD

Our period panties are here! For those days when we’re more woman than ever, and yet nature does everything it can to make us feel not very feminine. Well, at least women’secret, which believes in beauty and practicality in equal measure, remembers us on those tough days.

They’re called women’s days and they were designed with all the details in mind. The fabric is 89% cotton and 11% elastane (the same soft, stretchy cotton as in the my basics mamas collection). In addition to their comfort, they have a double waterproof lining where you can attach the pad so it doesn’t move around and the wings stay out of sight. The fabric is stronger so that they still look new after many washings. You can choose between two models, panty and short, and both come in black and white.

WHAT GOES INTO A FASHION CATALOGUE

Lots of you have written in to tell us how much you love the w’s fall campaign images. And we’re delighted to hear your opinions, as selecting the right brand image for a seasonal campaign is no easy task.

This year we headed to New York, where photographer Daniel Jackson was waiting to surprise us with his ideas for our latest catalogue. The idea was to create an autumn setting, based on original, dreamlike ideas. Dark lights and bold colours that stand out against a plain background, creating the sense of a static, still life image. We’re delighted with the results, as the photos really do show off each of the garments selected for the shoot to best effect.
The images range from an elegant and sophisticated woman to a student of botany with a natural, laid-back air.

SAVE THE ANIMALS

We’ve been moved by the threat to cuddly pandas for some time now. And to elephants, and to whales, and to bears in danger of extinction. So we’ve been thinking of a way to get each and every one of us to spare some thought for all those endangered species on our planet. And so armed with our enthusiasm for building a future where humans can live in harmony with nature, we’ve done what we know how to do best: we’ve come up with an exclusive collection of pyjamas, sweatshirts, briefs and socks featuring animals in danger of extinction. The designs are simple, and feature earth tones such as green, blue and cream. The styles are comfortable and the soft cotton fabrics ensure that you will feel great in your skin…

Essentially, this is a declaration of intent. An attempt to create a collective sense of awareness regarding the impact that changing habitats and modern-day life are having on many animals.
