Summer’s here at last! And it’s time to slip into that bikini and get that flattering bronzed glow.
First and foremost, take care not to get burnt and give it time: don’t lie out in the sun for long periods –all you’ll manage to do is to damage your skin and end up looking like an overripe tomato. And you know that that doesn’t look good on those holiday snaps.
If you don’t tan easily, we recommend you don’t overdo it with those bronzing oils (and if you must use them, then remember to use a sunscreen). There are a few natural remedies that will help you get a healthy glow: for instance, a month before you go on holiday, start drinking a daily glass of carrot juice – and if there isn’t time for all that, then simply drink it just before heading for the beach. But remember – you still shouldn’t overdo it with the bronzing oils… Don’t go overboard!

First impressions count, and today, that means social networking. Had that occurred to you?
That’s why the photo you choose to post on your profile is really important. Did you know that the first thing many companies do when they receive your CV is to look you up on Facebook?
According to an article posted on ChicaSeo these photos should:
- Transmit a sense of confidence. This means choosing a photo that shows the face and shoulders, looking straight at the camera and set against a white background.
- A photo taken by a professional photographer projects more professionalism and the idea that you take care of your professional and personal image. This type of photo also generally creates a greater impact than one of poorer quality.
- It should also transmit what you are in a credible manner. If sincerity is your strength, then this is what your photo should reflect. This will create a sense of complicity with the person that is looking at it.

Can you imagine turning on your computer each morning and being greeted by something that brings a smile to your lips (ideas that are unusual or just plain crazy) that you simply had no idea even existed?
This is the essence of the project dreamed up by Studio Young, a UK design studio. They come up with ideas that most of us mortals have never even dreamed of before, and illustrate them in a way that is truly entertaining. A simple idea, but also uniquely original and, what’s even more important, pure fun.

A mini what? A minimi.
One of our readers has sent in this adorable felt tiny doll brooch measuring around 7 cm which is the spitting image of our summer catalogue model. Isn’t it cute? She’s even dressed her in an identical jumpsuit and foulard. We were really touched by this gift. And it brought a smile to our faces too!
Minimis are customised dolls that are a miniature replica of a person. You can order a minimi of yourself or a famous actor or actress, a friend, your pet or even a couple… An original, but above all fabulously exclusive gift. If you’d like to find out more, visit the website at www.lasminimis.com.

Looking at the photos makes you long for those hot summer days! Great! That’s exactly the reaction we were hoping to produce!
But it wasn’t quite as easy as it looks. Back in February, we decided to head off to Morocco for the summer photo shoot, confident that we’d have guaranteed sunshine. But what did we find? The rotten weather in Europe had spread south. So just what do you do when faced with a situation like that? All you can do is keep calm, set up the equipment, get the looks ready, make sure the model’s made up and wait for even the tiniest ray of sunshine. That, and try to keep as warm as possible, of course

Its name couldn’t be simplest. But there’s a lot more than that.
Simple breakfast is a delicious photo blog in everyway about breakfasts. Those healthy and strong breakfasts that make you to relax and sit for a big while by the table, with a good reading in your hands. All breakfast proposals are different, healthy and rich, but what we do really love about this blog is the sensitiveness and charm of the shots. The beautiful compositions, the play with colours… all images are so beautiful and simple at the same time that we’re pretty sure you won’t get tired of looking at them! They may even inspire you to eat healthier after all this excess eating time that Christmas is.
We’re not the only ones in admiring this blog, as the author of such a creative proposal, the North American Jennifer Causey, has already published a book on the matter.

It’s true, the arrival of autumn changes everything: the lights, the weather… and we’ve joined in, changing our showroom to include the new winter styles.
Hours and hours of hard work, nerves, fittings…it’s all part of designing new collections. A long process that ends when the garments arrive in the stores and the collections are presented to the press in each country. Two moments that make us feel as though we’re taking our end of year exams! We’re being tested to see if we’ve done a good job and are waiting anxiously to see if we’ve passed.
A few days ago we presented our winter collection to the Spanish press. It was a really great event, packed with ultra-cool people who love having fun and chatting about the fashion garments they’re planning and ordering the garments they’ll feature in their magazines.

Lots of you have written in to tell us how much you love the w’s fall campaign images. And we’re delighted to hear your opinions, as selecting the right brand image for a seasonal campaign is no easy task.
This year we headed to New York, where photographer Daniel Jackson was waiting to surprise us with his ideas for our latest catalogue. The idea was to create an autumn setting, based on original, dreamlike ideas. Dark lights and bold colours that stand out against a plain background, creating the sense of a static, still life image. We’re delighted with the results, as the photos really do show off each of the garments selected for the shoot to best effect.
The images range from an elegant and sophisticated woman to a student of botany with a natural, laid-back air.

Have you got a sweet tooth? If you have a weakness for all things sweet, keep reading.
We’ve discovered some ideas that add an interesting twist to homemade products. And we love them all.
Obamitas are fun biscuits made from a recipe that includes a special ingredient: a sense of humour. In the light of all the positive hype surrounding the election of US President Obama, this Spanish firm has come up with some chocolate (naturally!) biscuits featuring the President’s face. For them, giving obamitas as a gift is a way of spreading some joy and doing away with some of our cares. Surely everyone would be delighted to receive a gift like this?

The blogsphere is packed with blogs to suit all tastes. And if you’ve ever been called a weirdo because you feel a certain fascination for things that the rest of the world doesn’t seem to care about, then there’s bound to be a blogspot where people just like you spend hours and hours chatting and learning about the kind of things that you like.
For instance, have you ever spent 20 euros on a piece of cellophane you spotted in a museum shop but have never actually used? Is the ribbon on the gift wrapping the most exciting thing for you about a present? If the answer is yes, then you’ll definitely get a buzz with this blog on sticky tapes which is, to say the least, intriguing and varied. The author’s declaration of intent makes it absolutely clear:
This blog is dedicated to the art and times of sticky tape, which also goes by the names: sello tape, packing tape, gaffer tape and masking tape. It may be of interest to anyone interested in stationery, catching flies, art or design.
