Once again, tragedies as the ones in Japan make us to put things into perspective and think about how happy do we are just for being alive. Watching such devastation and seeing how the Japanese people are dealing with it, make really difficult to find words to fully express our regrets.
There is not much that we can do, but at least we can use this blog to post one of the all non-profit organizations that Grupo Cortefiel collaborates with, that are already mobilizing help to Japan. Because each and everyone of us can make a difference.

As you know, here at women’secret we can’t resist those retro-style prints that simply scream out the seventies. So you can imagine how we feel about the 60s and 70s revival that is currently sweeping the fashion scene.
We’ve decided to seize the moment to pay a small tribute to our sexy mums – those who strutted their stuff (and we’re sure they still do) during those decades; with their middle parting hairstyles, kohl-rimmed eyes and skimpy dresses with very high hemlines. We’ve brought their looks straight into the present: retro-style negligees in filmy flowing fabrics that cling suggestively, revealing just enough to tantalise. Suggestive but not too daring. And of course, there’s our range of sexy underwear, such as the transparent set in pink lace or the powder green balconette bra with a touch of the naïf that tantalises and teases.

Libya’s crisis is worrying. The ACNUR’s Spanish Committee (United Nations High Commission for the Refugees) has contacted Grupo Cortefiel in order to inform about this horrible situation and ask for help. It seems something around 200.000 people has already fled Libyan’s violence seeking refuge in other countries. The real dimension of the crisis is still unknown, however, UN is seriously considering a new exodus of around 400.000 more people in the days to come.
From women’secret we want to let you know one of the best ways to collaborate to help those civil refugees in need of food, emergency camps and basic care.

Who can resist a delicious cupcake?
And if it’s one of those cute cakes with their divine decorations from a traditional New York bakery, then so much the better. They’re all pretty similar in style – welcoming, old-world, homely and European. Just like the Louise Fili LTD design studio, which specialises in logos and images for restaurants, most of the them Italian and French. They also design packaging for a range of products (including delicious jams with labels that shout out “Eat me! I’m sweet and irresistible”). This studio has received numerous awards and been featured in leading magazines ever since it was founded, back in 1989. However, in order to see these fabulous products in situ, you’ll have to take a trip to the Big Apple.

Violence against women is the most widespread, hidden and unpunished of all human rights violations. Don’t keep gender violence a secret.
Last spring w’s and Amnesty International carried out a joint campaign in Portugal aimed at raising awareness of the problem of gender violence and the need to help women who are the victims of this violence to report it. This groundbreaking campaign received such extensive media coverage this spring that we’ve decided to expand the campaign to Spain.
